Why Wright Windows

Made in Ireland.
Made by family.
Since 1969.

56 years. Three generations. One factory in Westmeath. Here’s what that gets you.

There are plenty of companies that sell windows and doors in Ireland. There aren’t many that actually make them. We’ve been doing it since 1969 — the year man landed on the moon — and we still answer the phone in Milltownpass when you ring.

Wright Windows is a manufacturer first and an installer second. Every window, every door, every R9 Legacy flush sash, every Spitfire S‑500 entrance door we ship has come through our own factory in Co. Westmeath. We don’t import frames from Eastern Europe and stick our name on them. We extrude profile, glaze, foil, assemble, finish, deliver and fit — all under one roof, all by people who have worked here for years.

That sounds like marketing copy. It’s not. It’s the operating principle the Wright family has run on for three generations, and it’s why over half our business comes back to us as referrals or repeat customers.

Made Here, Not Imported

Manufactured at our Westmeath factory — not shipped from a wholesaler.

The Irish window market has filled up over the years with installers who import frames from Eastern European factories, badge them, and fit them. Nothing wrong with that as a model — but it’s not what we do, and it makes a real difference to what lands on your house.

When we control the build, we control the spec. If you need a non‑standard size, an unusual colour combination, a specific reveal detail to match a heritage opening, we can do it — because the people making the window are 30 metres from the office. There’s no “sorry, that’s not in the catalogue” conversation.

Certified, Not Just Claimed

NSAI‑certified U‑values from 1.4 down to 0.7.

Our Eco Wright Passive uPVC window is A1‑rated under the NSAI Window Energy Performance scheme — the only such certification system in Ireland. Across the range, our NSAI‑certified U‑values run from 1.4 down to 0.7 on uPVC and 0.8 on aluminium, R9 Legacy and aluclad — in PassivHaus territory.

These aren’t catalogue numbers measured in laboratory conditions. They’re Irish certifications measured by Irish testing bodies for Irish weather. The reason that matters: a window that performs to 1.4 on a German test rig doesn’t necessarily perform to 1.4 in a horizontal-rain January in Mayo.

Exclusivity, Not Just Distribution

The only Irish supplier of two flagship lines.

Two of the highest-margin, highest-spec products in our range are not available from any other Irish supplier. The R9 Legacy composite flush-sash window — Ireland’s only authorised assembly point — and the Spitfire S-500 Signature Series aluminium entrance door, where we’re the sole Irish dealer.

For homeowners who specifically want either, that means coming to us — and means we’re the team with the deepest expertise in fitting them on Irish properties. There’s no “we’ve done a few of those” with us — we’ve done all of them in Ireland.

Three Pillars

Why customers come back — and refer us on.

1. Quality you can stand over

Every product is built in‑house by people who’ve been doing this for years. We pick the glass, foil the rebate, fit the locking, check the seal — you’re not getting somebody’s rejected stock at a discount.

2. Service you can ring

Three years after install, ten years after install — if something needs adjusting, the lock needs servicing, or the seal needs swapping, you ring us and we come out. That’s why we’ve grown almost entirely on referrals.

3. People who know what they’re selling

Our sales team don’t work on commission. They’re engineers who understand what they’re recommending. If something we sell isn’t right for your house, we’ll tell you — and sometimes recommend a different product or material.

In Their Words

Don’t take our word for it.

Our customer reviews are real Google Business Profile entries from real homeowners across Dublin, Westmeath, Meath, Kildare and beyond. We’ve never edited one, never paid for one, and the ones below are pulled live from Google.

56 years on, still answering the phone in Milltownpass.
