Support & After-Sales

For existing Wright Windows customers

Windows and doors are mechanical products. Hinges settle, handles loosen, seals age and units occasionally need adjusting — that is normal, and sorting it out is part of what we do. Our after-sales team handles service calls for work we have carried out, and we answer the phone long after a formal warranty period has ended.

What to have ready

You will get a faster answer if you have these to hand when you call or email:

  • The name and address the order was placed under
  • Roughly when the work was carried out
  • Which window or door is affected, and where it is in the house
  • A short description of what it is doing — sticking, draughty, misted, not locking
  • A photo or two, if you can. For glazing issues a photo of the full unit plus a close-up is ideal

Things we are asked about most

A door or window has dropped, or is stiff to open

Usually an adjustment rather than a fault. Modern hinges are adjustable in more than one plane, and a frame can settle slightly in the first year after installation. Do not force a handle that has stopped moving freely — ring us and we will look at it.

Misted or foggy double glazing

Condensation trapped between the panes means the sealed unit has failed. The glass itself cannot be dried out or repaired — the unit is replaced. The frame, hinges and handles stay as they are, so this is a smaller job than people expect.

Condensation on the inside of the glass

This is usually not a fault. It is moisture in the room meeting a cold surface, and it is very common in kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms in Irish homes. Trickle vents, extractor fans and background ventilation all help. If it is persistent across the whole house, talk to us — it can point to a ventilation problem rather than a window problem.

Draughts

Most often a compression or gasket issue, and often adjustable. Worth reporting rather than living with.

Handles, locks and cylinders

These are wearing parts and can be replaced individually. Tell us the product range if you know it — it is on your order paperwork — and we will match the hardware.

Replacement parts

We manufacture in Milltownpass and hold hardware for the ranges we fit, including older ones. If you are not sure what you have, a photo of the handle, hinge or lock keep is usually enough for us to identify it.

Warranty claims

The exact warranty period depends on the product range and configuration, and it is set out on your written quote and order paperwork — that document is the one to check first. Your statutory rights as a consumer apply in addition to any warranty we give. To start a claim, contact us with the details listed above and we will take it from there.

See our terms and conditions for the full detail.
